Has it only been a month? The progress on the aerogarden plants have been pretty good. I've already harvested basil for a couple of meals and drying. I ordered a set of small storage glass jars for herb and maybe flower drying. I continually harvest cilantro.

Out of a total of 7 pods times 2 (14) I have the following:

My current aerogarden is pretty much a sage garden at this point. I just came across this tidbit on sage:

I have a crazy collection considering the size of my garden space. I hope to get that community plot this year! And yet, I had to place a seed order. Yes, in the middle of winter, we're able to harvest fresh herbs still! I have one Aerogarden with Holiday Herb Kit doing nicely. The sage is practically a monster...if I do it again, I'll change 1 of the 2 sage pods to 1 and add a 3rd oregano pod.

Yup, it's currently 40F. Extended forecast says a high of 32F on Sunday and then back into the high 40's. Sooo, after Sunday I will start my winter sowing. Which would be a week ahead of my original plan. Yay ( Read more... )

Well, Jana really threw in lettuce seeds in clumps. Instead of cutting seeds to deal with crowding, I decided to transplant into containers, trays and redistrbute through the bed. I counted 26 seedlings. I figured since lettuce can handle transplanting, it was worth finding new homes. Wow, potentially 26 heads of buttercrunch lettuce. Heh, I hope I ( Read more... )
