We had excellent stuffed cubanelle's last night using ground turkey. The cubanelle's were from Soergel's Orchards this weekend, still waiting for our stuffing peppers to ripen. We did have some fun with our harvests. I'm really glad that Michael talked me into growing a variety of herbs, boy, they really add to cooking. And then there's garlic, garlic, garlic!

We made our first pasta sauce from scratch this week. Tried some eggplant parmesan and even fried green tomatoes.

Jana seems to have discovered there are "bellybuttons" on eggplants. We got to harvest our 2nd eggplant of the season and first, Lavender Hybrid (about 7" and 10.2 oz). We also picked another cuke (7oz).

Yay, 3 warm overcast days with a prediction for 30% chance of thunder storms. Time to transplant!

Yup, it's currently 40F. Extended forecast says a high of 32F on Sunday and then back into the high 40's. Sooo, after Sunday I will start my winter sowing. Which would be a week ahead of my original plan. Yay ( Read more... )
