Things have been going fairly well since druidmage got home. We've been taking it easy so far. It's still hard to believe sometimes that he's home for good and not for a few days. I just got the official word telling me when druidmage's welcome home ceremony is. That's right he's almost home from the deployment! *Does a dance of joy*

Now if only his ceremony wasn't in the middle of the night things would be darn near perfect.

I met a rare breed when I took Gavin out to play earlier this afternoon. I met a husband left behind with the children while his wife went off to war. In the two deployments that I have been through he is the first Amry Husband I have ever met. We chatted while our children played together and he asked if I had met any others. It's raining! Hooray! Thank you Tropical Storm Barry. I can't remember the last time it actually rained. Just after druidmage left it drizzled, but this is more than a drizzle. It's a nice gentle rain right now, pleasant to listen to. Of course this means I'll have to take Gavin over to the PX playland to get active play time in, but we've been going there ( Read more... )

druidmage has made it safely to Kuwait. He'll be there for a short while before moving on to his final destination. We've been lucky and gotten to talk on the phone or on the computer once a day since he left. It's good hearing his voice and he says it's good to hear mine. I got an email from druidmage a little while ago letting me know he made it to Germany safe and sound. He asked that I "let everyone know I'm doing alright." Hopefully I'll get to hear from him again soon and I'll pass along updates as I get them.
