Yesterday, I took my desktop pc into Office Depot for their "free pc tune up." It's been running slow and crashes when it's connected to the internet. The tech found malware and suggested I add more RAM. Ok, but the price outrageously sucked.

So what is the best brand of router or do they basically all work the same?

Computer update: Thanks to sally_maria and kimberlyfdr for the Malwarebytes rec. I ran it last night and it found the same nasties ExterminateIt! found. I'm not sure if it worked at the end because the program crashed just as the dialogue box popped up saying I needed to restart my computer. So I'm running a scan again ( Read more... )

Help! I've got some nasties on my laptop! :(

When some popups kept popping up I became suspicious. I ran Spybot and it detected DoubleD but couldn't purge it. It told me to run Spybot as Administrator but I was already running it as Administrator. Norton AV didn't detect anything.

Renewing my Norton AV subscription has always given me headaches so why did I think it would be different this time? The renewal code they gave me doesn't work.
