The National Museum in Oslo finally allows visitors to take pictures. In the past you could apply for it, but needed a valid reason - a research project, a school essay - for doing so. Now it's open for everyone, as long as it doesn't hurt the objects on display. Which obviously means no flash ( Read more... )

It's a bit fun to see trends (if you can call it that) in the online costume communities. When I started way back then, "everyone" did Italian Renaissance, Venetian dresses in particular. Statens museum for kunst, Copenhagen. They have a most excellent search site, with many lovely colour reproductions online ( http://soeg.smk.dk/ ). It was nice to see their "goodies" live, after having browsed through their website now and then.
