Warning: rambling ahead. One of my pet peeves is what people call historical eras. For example, it annoys me greatly when English-languaged people call a 1540 Florentine portrait for "Tudor". Italian 1540 portraits aren't Tudor, though they might correspond to the equivalent English period. Ditto for when Americans call French Rococo dresses for " ( Read more... )
