The great thing about this time of year is that there are turkey necks at the grocery! Faith got a turkey neck for her dinner last night, and she thought it was very tasty. Yesterday I took Joey out to pee, and one of my neighbors was walking her dog.  Her dog looks like some kind of so-called "designer dog" with, I'm sorry to say, some poodle genes.  I'm pretty sure it's a very young dog, and it's pretty much insane.  Instead of teaching the dog leash manners, the woman has solved the pulling problem by using a flexi ( Read more... )

Yesterday I was cleaning Faith's ears and I noticed that the inside of her right ear leather was covered in red oozy sore things.  I had noticed her scratching at her ear a bit that day and the day before, but I didn't think much of it.  After being suitably horrified, I took her to the vet.  I really love the vets here.  They are all so nice.  I ( Read more... )

I still don't have access to a decent camera, but I took a poor quality picture of Faith with Kristen's camera phone.  It may be shoddy, but it conveys the gist of Faith's new pom-ridden look.  Her back poms look funny in this picture, but I think it's mostly because of the angle.  Also, I need to fix her head poof.  I tried to make her ears more ( Read more... )

Sometimes on Fridays Faith and I go to socialization classes in Roanoke, which consist of between ten and thirty dogs romping in one room.  Some people think it's dumb that I take my poodle to a dog playgroup, but these "classes" are really great for Faith because she was distracted by something shiny when God was giving out the rulebook for polite ( Read more... )
