Has anyone here heard of or used Nubian Heritage African Black soap? I've bought a bar, and am curious what you think. When I used it in the shower, the froth was grey and even besides that I am not used to seeing froth with natural soaps. The ingredients say:

I have some pre-flowering twigs of lavender from my yard. Is there any benefit to stripping the leaves and putting them in a sachet for a bath, or making a pillow for a sleep aid, or something? Or is there any reason this would be harmful?

I've used a lot of sunscreen in my life because I have light skin (burns, won't tan) and am often outside playing sports in the middle of the day in summer time.  Now I'm starting to hear a lot of people say they don't use sunscreen anymore because it's now known to be carcinogenic ( Read more... )

Does anyone have an idea of what the threshold for vit. d toxicity is? I've read contradicting reports and am trying to figure it out. I don't drink milks often (cow, rice, soy, etc.) because i don't like it most of the time and sometimes remember to buy calcium and vit. d fortified OJ if i have the money and the memory. My friend has a bunch of Kirkland and Westsoy soy milk that has been sitting on her shelf for quite some time. The "best if used by" dates on most of them are January 2008. Are these still safe to drink? I would hate to see so many cartons of soy milk go to waste, but I also don't want to become ill from drinking an expired product.

It was on the news tonight, goes into affect on Feb 10th, that any clothes and toys for infant to children, will have to be tested for lead, by a third party, which can cost around $25 to $100 a batch or item.
