I went down to the stream and sat and watched and learned. The snow is receding again. Where the snow is gone the earth is muddy.

Abe came over on Friday and stayed for a few days. I was down at the stream, then walked up and met Abe who was ready to be driven home. I bought him food on the way. He has such a hollow leg! We had a good talk about things he has experienced in the past few years.

I went for a walk on the balcony and filled up the two huge bird feeders that are on the railings. I sat on the walker and scooped the seeds out with my birchbark oblong pencil basket. The feeders sure are heavy when they are full. The seeds have a lot of chaff in the bag. I'm amazed at how many weed seeds are in the bag as well ( Read more... )

I fed the deer little while ago, filling 8 bowls with three scoops of Deer feed. I got up before seven and took photos of the lovely sunshine out the windows, then went for a walk. I heard the birds, so I made a silent video of the birds as I heard them, the worm-eating warbler, the robins, a starling.
