I saw TANGLED the other day, a Disney story about Repunzel. I hadn't planned on watching it, it was just sort of on, and I was curious. Unexpectedly, I really liked it. Reading Saussure (Course in General Linguistics) is so much easier than reading Darwin (On the Origin of Species). Still as dense, but I can better comprehend Saussure (it also helps that I've read this particular essay before). And I really like the idea of language being compared to chess. So interesting.

I didn't realize how much literary theory there would be in one of my classes. Luckily I took a class on critical theory, etc. a few years ago, which is a bit similar, so some of it already looks familiar just based on the reading list. I just found out I got A's in all my classes (all 3), but two were A minuses, which drops my GPA down to 3.78, which is the lowest it's ever been. And I have all A's for crying out loud. I am so ticked.

I had five pages on this paper, and then I asked my professor if I was doing it correctly. He basically said, "uh, not really..." So he explained it to me again and now I'm rewriting.
