saussure vs. darwin
Reading Saussure (Course in General Linguistics) is so much easier than reading Darwin (On the Origin of Species). Still as dense, but I can better comprehend Saussure (it also helps that I've read this particular essay before). And I really like the idea of language being compared to chess. So interesting.
