Update!

My access to the internet has been severely curtailed over the last few weeks because of a broken laptop cable. My mum has a laptop but I don't like to interfere too often with her Facebook addiction. Thankfully my new cable has finally arrived ( just tracking one down was a nightmare) and I have my beloved laptop back again.

I feel better than I have done in a while.

The Jobcentre still hasn't sorted my money out, but I've had some good news on the job front. I've been asked to go to a group interview at Asda on Wednesday. I've applied there twice before and been rejected right out, so I'm hopeful. It's only a temporary position but it'd be money and experience. I've ( Read more... )

Stuff That's Happened: 

• I graduated from university with a 2:1 BA (Hons) History and English. I still haven't received my certificate yet but, hey, Brian May was there! 
• Despite having applied for 40+ jobs, I'm still unemployed.

Several random bits of news:

I got news that my uncle Jack died, quite possibly making this the worst month ever. He wasn't actually a relative but a very old family friend, having lived next door to my nan and grandad for years. It wasn't unexpected at all - his health has been terrible since his wife died a few years ago. I'm worried about my nan ( Read more... )

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post.

The funeral wasn't as bad as I was expecting, although obviously it was sad. Something that made me furious was that a few hours after the crematorium where it was held was vandalised.

On a completely different topic, I read Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada and would definitely recommend it.

Why do I always end up with timetable clashes?

Tomorrow I have a lecture on suffragette poetry from 10-1, and then one on the rise of the Nazis from 1-3. The Nazi lecture is on the top floor of a different building, which takes at least five minutes to get to if I'm running, and is taught by a tutor who makes a point of humiliating latecomers.
