Saw Winter Soldier. Probably the best Marvel film since Avengers, and that's saying something. Lots of action. Great characters. Great story - which turns the shared universe upside down in many respects. I loved the end-credits homage to the style of Bond and other 70's technothrillers.

Recently saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Thought it was very good. And the ending was happier than I would have guessed, given the premise. Charley Kaufman can write! Oh, and Jim Carey can act, given the right direction and a tight leash.

I liked it. It's clearly Superman's 'Year One', in that he has never fought anyone before, never mind people in his own strength range. Combine that with needing to keep focus to avoid his supersenses overwhelming him, is it any wonder that things happen as they do? The bad guys' powers as described make absolutely zero sense. It doesn't even make comic-book levels of sense.

Enjoyable. Ambitious. And fairly good at achieving it.

I recently saw Dungeons & Dragons: Book of Vile Darkness. Not a good film, but a fun one. The vermin lord's actor could actually act! The SFX weren't completely laughable! I was entertained. Some of the action was so overblown that I found it alienating, rather than exciting (the chase sequence in the Goblin Caves, the ride on Stone Giant legs;) but to make up for that, PJ gave the dwarves a lot of gravitas they don't have in the books, which made their goals and battles more engaging.
