Star Trek: Into Darkness
I was really sceptical about this. The first movie was entertaining enough, but felt hollow - something was missing. I worked out it was a moral centre that was absent.
This movie has the characters being much more to the forefront as people; and to some degree at least addresses a current issue, basically drones vs terrorists, and just generally should the military be used for revenge; a good use of the more militaristic Federation we see in this time-frame due to Vulcan's destruction. Overall, I was happy with it.
