I've spent a lot of time at Katie's house. I had to watch Maisie for two weekends in a row! The first weekend she had a Rotary Club workshop and a church retreat. A week later, she went to New York to see Sam and Devon. And this weekend, I stayed over to help her run her Rotary Club's Great Wine Out. That was fun ( Read more... )

Rapunzel arrived today. She's gorgeous. Her only real flaw is that her eyes aren't green like in the movie. Other Rapunzel owners are doing eye swaps, but I'm afraid of ruining her head. She's staying the way she came.

Mom and Dad had their 62nd wedding anniversary on the 16th, which also happened to be Father's Day this year. We went to see The Wizard of Oz at the Riverside for their anniversary, and The Alpine Chef for Father's Day. Dad and I got a giant metal rooster for Mom. She loves it. I got some good news from Anthem today. I was worried that I hadn't gotten a bill for last fall's gallbladder surgery. It turns out that they'd covered it almost in full! Would have been nice to know sooner so I wouldn't have been going nuts about it. They didn't completely cover the hernia repair. They paid 90%, and I'm paying the hospital with a ( Read more... )

Guess where I spent most of Thursday morning (starting at 1 a.m.)? Mary Washington Hospital's ER. Again. The pain I've been having got to a point where I couldn't move without wanting to scream. It was constant. Dad took me in. I went through triage, but they were so understaffed that I wasn't taken back until 4 a.m.! Finally, a doctor ordered ( Read more... )

My two week post surgery follow-up was today. My surgeon said that everything looks good. Any pain at this point is normal, and I need to give myself time to heal. He thinks I should be fine in two more weeks. No lifting more than ten pounds until June ( Read more... )
