I've spent a lot of time at Katie's house. I had to watch Maisie for two weekends in a row! The first weekend she had a Rotary Club workshop and a church retreat. A week later, she went to New York to see Sam and Devon. And this weekend, I stayed over to help her run her Rotary Club's Great Wine Out. That was fun ( Read more... )

Katie was installed as her Rotary Club's President last week. For some reason, the ceremony was held at Fred Nats Park! We had a box suite. For a small, minor league ballpark, it was really nice. And the Fred Nats won both games in a double header.

Home opener for the Nationals! It was a chilly day, and the Nats lost to the Pirates, but Katie and I had fun. I love Nats Park. We had great seats near first base. There was a Hard Times Cafe stand near our section, so we had chili dogs and nachos for dinner.

Of course I took a doll with me. Ezri fit easily in my clear bag.

The surgery center called. Anthem is going to cover me for outpatient surgery, and will work something out if it turns into an overnight. I think there was a coding error. Today is Star Trek Day! On this date in 1966, NBC aired Star Trek for the first time, with the episode The Man Trap. I of course did a little display with my blowup Enterprise, and Makena and Briony dressed in Starfleet uniforms.

I went to my first Fredericksburg Nationals baseball game last night! They're the minor league affiliate of the Washington Nats. They have a nice stadium. My mom's Rotary club had a section next to the bullpen for our group.

OMFG THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!

They won Game Seven against the Astros, 6-2! First win in the franchise's history. They never made it as the Expos (closest they came to being a serious contender was '94...the year the series was cancelled because of the MLB strike).
