Every Quad is different for me.... My first year was a cherry popping (both SCA camping and Quad all at once!).  Second was totally not memorable besides house dramas.  Third year was K&B's step up, and therefore too busy to be enjoyable. This event is always sorta sitting on a teeter totter of fun for me. The first year was AMAZING, the second year was Ok, the third year kinda sucked and that brings us to this year. Its held in Shelby, Montana in a beautiful river valley camp ground. Part of the decline of the event is a reflection of the state of Montana. The economic ( Read more... )

This event wasn't on my radar originally. It was going to be a free weekend of sewing and prep for Sept Crown. Instead, we got roped into building a biffy on the Quad War site and going up for Sargent Trials was the best option for when to go up. Estrella is just too big of an event to give a full synopsis of. It involves a week long camping in the desert south of Phoenix, AZ with thousands of other SCAers. I have some anecdotal highlights and then my GBU.

The event was amazing... in fact, the entire weekend was amazing.

Friday night the shire of Rhuddglyn showed up on my doorstep. I was hosting 6 of them for sleeping space and was stressing a bit about that many people in my personal space. oblivions and Wilma came over to help keep me sane.
