I'm feeling quite behind writing in LiveJournal. I've been too busy living, and loving it. Europe was great. It was also amazing to spend a few weeks with good friends and even some biofam, after a couple of months of not seeing anyone I really knew at all, with one notable 1½-week exception. I've finished my tenure at Pisco sin Fronteras now. I'm planning to be there another day or two before I skip the country, partially so I can properly earth those water heaters like I always said I would, and partially so I can visit the family I built the baño for, and see how it works when the City finally connects water to their property.

Iquitos turns out to be the biggest city in the world, at least out of those not reachable by road. There certainly are vehicles here (mostly taxi things that look like two motorcycles strapped together with a buggy on top... I've forgotten what they're called) but presumably they came down (or up) the Amazon by boat... like pretty much everything ( Read more... )

It's hard to find an adjective for the last week or two. 'Surreal', maybe, but I feel like I overuse that one, and anyhow, that implies some sort of emotion. I haven't really had much time to feel emotions-too much packing and prep to do.
