As one might imply from my consumption of 7.5 lbs of fruit this week, I don't feel like eating warm foods. I've been eating salads all week as well. I frequently only want to eat cold, non-cooked or minimally cooked foods when it is hot outside. Every summer that I've gone to the farmers market I rediscover how delicious food can be. Now that the stone fruits - plums, pluots, apricots and peaches and the berries, are in season, it's incredibly easy to get more than my minimum fruit requirements in. I love summer because of all the fruit that is in season. Fruit is probably my favorite food. I had never made a fruit tart, but decided I would a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious and pretty!

If you ever have a desire to make Pita Bread, I would recommend this recipe. I used about 5/6 whole wheat flour, 1/6 rye flour and a tiny bit of wheat gluten. The whole process took about 3 hours from beginning to end (although I didn't actually do three hours of work - a lot of that time was spent waiting for the dough to rise). Once upon a time I had a side of red beans and rice at a restaurant. It was non-vegetarian, but it was still tasty so I decided to make it at home since the meat parts were not my favorite.
