I had The Conversation with my advisor yesterday and he thinks I can defend my thesis by December 2009!!!! As anxious as I was to know what he thought, now I'm kind of freaking out. I think it can be done, but I have a lot of work to do.

Sorry I haven't really been posting much these days. We had a bout of productivity in my group and got one paper published and one paper is being refereed. Very exciting! Still in St. Louis. Took the morning off to go site-seeing. Our hotel is right next to the arch, so we walked over there this morning. Wow, weird night. I've been really tired at night all week, so I went to bed around 10:00 pm to read. Around 11:00 or 11:30, I turned off my light to go to sleep. I can't stop giggling as I read the wikipedia article about my lab. On the sidebar, the style of the architecture is described as "adorably ugly". So true! It does look like a little troll in a campus full of gothic beauty.

I got back from my conference last night around midnight. This year I gave two talks. One was a talk about my research, the other was a talk for the Conference Experience for Undergraduates that was supposed to be about what I have done since my CEU experience.
