I had to go to North Dakota for work the week before last. I was kind of grumbly about it, because it was a two-day drive each way and I had to do the (admittedly small) project all on my own ( Read more... )

Kansas: not as flat as the Red River Valley, not even in the west.

The mud is slowly drying and someone went and raked around the building, so things are getting marginally less ugly and difficult to walk through around here. It's also sunny and not too cold today, which is nice. I'm hoping things start to bud and sprout before long. I planted bulbs last fall and I'm anxious to see how they turn out.

I spent my first full day in California last week in San Francisco. I had a lot of good food and saw some wonderful architecture. There are seriously streets where all the houses look less like places where real people live, and more like something out of a fantasy land inhabited by lively characters in whimsical costumes.
