I completely fail at 35mm now. I had to go to a camera store to find someone to help me get the stuck film out of the camera and then show me how to properly load and rewind the film ( Read more... )

I stumbled upon this guy's Flickr page recently and he's got some lovely photos of Milwaukee.

I especially like this one. It makes it look as if I live in some kind of awesome City of the Future!

Today was largely a bust as I am still sick - not getting worse, fortunately, but still under the weather. I did take a walk this afternoon, though. Everything was gloriously melty. The lake was ice-free and the moon was looking big and beautiful.

I just spent a six-day weekend on an epic car trip to visit family in rural Kansas. The weather was glorious the entire time, and I cleverly missed the snow or whatever that hit Wisconsin and managed not to encounter any flooding that posed a problem to my trip.

It took three people, shovels, salt, and lots pushing, but we managed to get both my car and the neighbor's truck up the steep (but blessedly short) drive and into the parking area. Tomorrow I leave for the left coast for a week. I haven't been on a plane since 2005, but have now thoroughly educated myself on what is and is not allowed (can't find anything about wrapped gifts in checked baggage, so I assume they're OK) and carefully checked the number of ounces in all my little travel-size toiletries and packed them in a ( Read more... )

Today I somewhat spontaneously drove down to Lake Geneva to visit Yerkes Observatory and got incredibly shutter happy over all the amazing architecture.

I'm starting a photo journal at ubiquitousgrey rather than posting non-costuming related photos here. I'm going to try to update it weekly.

I'm not a professional or even a hobbyist. I've captured some interesting subjects, however, and sometimes I get lucky with light and composition. Also, this doubles as a digital photo album.
