I've been at my "new" job for a year now.  Where's the time gone?  I still love it.  However this time of the year coincides with the Annual Performance Reviews for all staff.

The last week at work has been UNBELIEVABLE.

It started last Friday, when our IT service company arrived around 2.00 pm to set up our new computer server.  I had to gather all of the 14 laptops, label them, get passwords, and have them ready for the technicians to prepare them for the change over.  Once we had no computers, there wasn't much point ( Read more... )

The holiday's over, and I've been back at work for two days now.  It almost seems as if the break never happened!

I started my latest temp job last Tuesday, and I'm happy to say it's a lot better than the last job!  It should be interesting this week, as I'm on my own (and I'll meet one of the Managers I'm to work with, who had been on leave last week).  One thing that I really like is that the office is literally only five minutes away from home.

I finally got around to putting up my Christmas decorations today.  I'm always rather tardy with this task, but it's done now!

Our Christmas tree does look a little lacking, but it's getting on a bit now - we've had it since our elder son was a small child - he's 26 now!   I don't see any point in buying a new one now that the boys have left home ( Read more... )

Where have I been?  Working in a quite stressful environment is where I've been.  It was supposed to have been an 8-week temp assignment, but it lasted only 2 weeks for me.  I had to learn an entirely new type of work, and the time allotted to do it was rapidly dwindling.  I couldn't keep up.  More and more work on top of this was expected as well ( Read more... )
