My new job
So, it's two days in, and I'm very happy in my new job as an Executive PA.
I attended my first meeting today, and have had several tasks assigned to me already. Tomorrow I'm to re-arrange the details of the Company's proposed website upgrade (!). That should be interesting. I've never done that before. Hopefully it's not as complex as it sounds! I haven't had a computer to myself for more that a few minutes at a time so far, but will do from tomorrow. The temp who's been doing my job will be working in another area for the rest of the week.
I was very flattered yesterday when I was talking with the Chief Financial Officer of the Company, who examined all the CVs of applicants for my job. She said she was very pleased when she saw my application. Since she knew me, and my work, she used my CV as a yardstick in her examination the other applications! I don't suppose you could get a much better compliment than that! At this stage I know that there were at least 17 other applicants.
It felt like I had come home when I walked into the office. It was especially nice when the CEO arrived yesterday morning, tapped me on the shoulder and said, "It's good to have you back!"
