nostalgia as a feeling is as unavoidable as any other feeling and ought to be respected as such -- felt, appreciated, accounted for. Whether and to what extent it ought to be indulged is th question w/ which we negotiate; again, our attitudes toward other feelings might serve as a map -- do we indulge our anger willy-nilly ? How bout fear. How bout lust, hate, elation, jealousy, protectiveness, self-preservation, or disgust

Do we give love a pass, or is it possible to go overboard

In other words, how much to tend th garden, how much to let it grow wild
