week in review
It has been a week since last I updated. In the past week there have been some booze-soaked adventures, and other, grander, adventures.
Last Friday, based on the last entry I have, I must have spent the night at the Serpa house. It was pretty fun, I s'pose. I woke up and walked back home Saturday morning.
Saturday the Beeg was in town. Got to spend a lot of good trio time from Saturday to Tuesday. In that time, it seems like a lot happened. Saturday night I went to the downtown pub for a couple pitchers of beer with the Trio.
Sunday happened to be a lot lazier. On Sunday it was just me and Beeg at his house. I drank some nasty tequila concoction and got vomit everywhere but the toilet. I don't like tequila, and I'm not big on whiskey. But I digress.
Monday was trivia night. Every Monday night THE pub (not the one I was at Saturday night) has trivial pursuit night and Irish pints at a reduced rate. I went with Alpo, the Trio, Ewok, Jared, Stephanie, and the infamous D.Wu !!!
Well, for the third time, we WON! I've been 5 times and won 3 times; Alpo and Ewok have been 3 times and won 3 times; wheat has been 4 times and won 3 times; It was Beeg's and D.Wu's first times.
Monday night was VERY booze-soaked. I had the equivalent of two pitchers to myself at Wexford's. So did Beeg. Plus some other miscellaneous amounts of beer. And then....there was more drinking. But this part was just me, Beeg, Alpo, and D.Wu.
There were long islands, martini's, some weird and cheap (& STRONG) concoction, and a gin and tonic. NOT Just by me, but in general. D.Wu had the gin and tonic. I'm not sure what I had of that assorted list, honestly. I just know that we went to Mister T's afterward.
The next day, D.Wu, Beeg and I were totally hungover. Wheat had some interviews to go to, hence he didn't even have a beer at the pub. The three hungover people, Wheat after his interviews, and Alpo, got together to scale the MOUNTAIN -- Mostly because on Tuesdays in Modesto, Mt. Mike's is 40% off!!!
the MOUNTAIN is a ginormous pizza from Mountain Mike's, a west coast pizza chain. It's 20 inches wide, I believe. Alpo has been a vegetarian for 7 years, but we convinced her to get a pepperoni pizza. All summer long, we've been indulging in mountain mike's 40% off Tuesday pizza, but that has meant all sorts of fancy combinations of vegetarian or meat-eating. Never had we had JUST a pepperoni. Well, we wanted to show D.Wu what the mountain was and what we are all about in Modesto.
We finished the pizza.
I don't remember what we did Tuesday night.
Wednesday was camping. That was: me, D.Wu, wheat, Alpurina, Ewok, and Jared. It was my first time ever camping. We went to Lake Alpine (pine marten to be precise). S'mores, a drunk Alpo, hiking, swimming, hot whiskies, and lots of fun.
Camping seemed like it took forever. But it was fun.
Last night there was bbq at alpo's dad's house.
