I've finished the everyday play outfit. Purple check gingham with an eyelet lace pinafore and (although you can't see them) eyelet lace pantlets underneath. I posed Kit in the act of setting up a dolly picnic (yeah, a bit meta there :-) )

I now have three of them; Josefina Montoya, Cécile Rey, and, most recently, Kit Kittredge. All three are thrift store finds; Céce, amazingly enough, was fully dressed. March 3rd was Hinamatsuri which I knew as "Girl's Day" when I lived in Okinawa. I had a lovely pink kimono to wear to school that day and we were taught to fold origama paper dolls that represented the Emperor and Empress. It was a day to dress up dolls in gorgeous clothes ( Read more... )

I've been thinking about the upcoming trip the Endwell girls are planning for Paris - specifically about fashion. I found this fabulous (acrylic) yarn at Walmart called Unforgettable and I got a skein of "Echo" - which is perfect for Catori. I'm not too pleased with how this came out, but I suppose it's all for the best. I had thought that the inspiration photo actually showed the soccer shirt, but it turns out to be just a regular shirt after all.

A young friend of mine recently more than doubled her population of 18 inch dolls. This led to the dismayed observation that she didn't have enough pyjamas for everyone. So I leapt into the breech - Five dolls = five sets of pyjamas.

More than a week ago, I started seeing a promotion of a sale of Madame Alexander dolls, half-price, and I started ... wanting. PK was located down in the swamp. When we asked him what he was doing, he said he was looking for a frog. A frog? Really? He's been grounded ... ummm ... confined to quarters as punishment for worrying us all like that.
