Just got the terrible news that Sir Alexander McQueen, my favorite active fashion designer, was found dead in his home this morning. He was only 40. Some reports are saying it was a suicide, because his mother passed away earlier this month and he had trouble coping. Coming back from his notable all-white show, Elie Saab - the undisputed King of the Red Carpet - failed to impress me in his 2010 pastel-dominated collection. While there were some nice designs, and the natural hair/makeup kept it classy, the lack of variety in the shapes and colors made the show very one-note and monotonous.
