I finally went and got a contract for my phone. For 50p extra a month I get 500 texts and 300 minutes. And I get to keep my current phone and my current number. Phew. I'm very attached to both of these so it's a relief. What is also a relief is not having to pay 12p a text.

 Our boiler has broken - apparently something inside has melted. The plumbers informed us of this and then said reassuringly 'if someone hasn't come to fix it in a fortnight, then phone us again.'

Ominous. But at least it is July (by Scottish standards anyway).

So lately I've been selling a lot of my DVDs. The ones I like rather than love. The ones people gave me that I didn't love. As with any book-lover, my shelf space is at a premium, so I'm very reluctant to go to Ikea and buy more media storage boxes.
