I finally went and got a contract for my phone. For 50p extra a month I get 500 texts and 300 minutes. And I get to keep my current phone and my current number. Phew. I'm very attached to both of these so it's a relief. What is also a relief is not having to pay 12p a text.
Brother minor is back at university and so now we can eat chicken again, and celebrated with a roast. It was time to push the boat out a bit in terms of chicken recipes (I usually roast mine with bay leaves, thyme and lemons in the cavity and baste with lots of butter). So I made the Mastering the Art of French Cookery thyme roasted chicken (in a casserole). It turned out rather well, although I think it needed more basting than I gave it, as the meat turned out rather dry.
Went to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last night with my parents. I enjoy thrillers - I think if I had a favourite genre of film then it would be that, and this I thoroughly enjoyed. Although it made my heart clench in a lot of it - there is no holding back on how hard, dangerous and (often) life-ruining that kind of profession is. I would like to go and see it again and pick up on what I missed. I also really enjoyed looking at Benedict Cumberbatch's costumes. He has some really nice suits!
And now I ought to try and read the book itself!
