I like nearly everyone I work with at Lowe's. I even like the customers much better than those at Walmart (even though some of them might be the same customers). There's just something that comes over people who enter the realms of Mordor Walmart. I realized yesterday morning on the way home from work that I was getting sick. The burgeoning sore throat that I hadn't paid any attention to when I was busy suddenly became quite evident. I went to bed yesterday afternoon (after missing a day at work) at around 2:30 pm in preparation for getting up at 10:30 pm to be at work by midnight. Because I'd slept on and off until around 6 am I knew the chances of me getting to sleep right away weren't good but I was hoping for 5-6 hours sleep. At 9 pm I gave up. Well shit. I just dropped an open bag of cat food on the kitchen floor. Luckily it only had about 1/2 a cup of food in it and it didn't really open until just a few inched from the floor so it didn't scatter too far. Unfortunately it woke Phouka from a sound sleep. When I screwed up my shoulder on the last day of spasticat's visit I only had 1 more day left of vacation. That wasn't enough time to recuperate; I had to miss 3 additional days of work. Work was rather mundane this week - no screeching harpies and drunk guys trying on condoms. I did come back from a 15 min break the other day to hear people in the fitting rooms. So it began snowing just before 7am. Small little gentle flakes drifting slowly to the ground. Looked harmless. Unfortunately it's supposed to pretty much continue snowing for around 24 hours.
