My friend Karen gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday and a lovely pal from home is due to give birth late January. My generation really do seem to have chosen a different birth model to our parents and noticeably it's not a model that the generation below us are copying (they seem to be becoming parents much earlier than 'we' are). I think the rain is having a terminal effect on my plants. The tomatoes need sunlight immediately before they rot off the vine and the violas and pansies are now coated in a white fungal type stuff which suggests rot. Or a timely stitch? I picked up my long forgotten knitting again this week. I can't bear to even touch the crazy mohair wool I bought at great expense and with wide eyed optimism but I did grab an ancient ball of mustard coloured acrylic wool and sat down to knit it.
