He's still in the e.r., and will probably stay there for a while. The X-ray didn't show as much heart failure as they'd expected, but it did show a mass in his abdomen which is most likely cancer. Adding tests and a potential tumor-removing surgery is going to up the price to the $7,000-$8,000 range. They're talking to me about euthanasia. He was ( Read more... )

I'm in the veterinary e.r. with Jacob. About an hour ago he started panting and peeing and pooping. I'm really fucking scared.

The cat food and water has all been stowed away. I'm setting my alarm for 6:00 am and planning to drop Opie off around 8:30.

Is is horrible if I admit that I'm scared?

This has been a really frightening day.

First, the movie. Last year I let Sprout talk me into Blood Diamond (when I wanted to see Night At The Museum); this year I let pghwob talk me into I Am Legend. Next year, we're seeing what I want to see, goddammit.
