Sorry for the absence. These past several days have been full of money/apartment/school stress and general ickiness, and I wanted to snap myself out of it instead of stewing. Venting to friends and my roommate helped, but it was good not to write about it.

Hair. As everyone already knows, I got my hair cut. The response has been very good so far - at least, I got quite a few compliments, some from you - thanks :) - and some from guys at school, which was a pleasant surprise considering the media portrays guys as generally not noticing when a girl changes her hair. Last night, I discovered that I had overdrawn my checking account, so that's an additional $50 in overdraft charges down the drain. My austerity measures last week were all for naught!

Yesterday, I dropped a bundle to FedEx an envelope of documents to Montreal. Actually, it was only about US$30 but the envelope was skinny. I have to keep telling myself that I'm paying for the convenience of sending it quickly and reliably. At any rate, no shopping for me until I have all my grad school stuff out of the way.
