First of all, the biggest piece of good news - I have secured work authorization for my summer internship, so it's all systems go as far as SF goes. Yay.
I tried to move forward on the paperwork for my on-campus job, but cannot get a Social Security Number more than 30 days before my start date (which is in August). Since I cannot presently do anything about that, I am not going to sweat it.
I've packed up a good amount of my stuff. I'd like to put away more of it, but I'm still using some :-p
The biggest, most expensive worry remains, but I hope I'll find a summer tenant soon. I showed the place to two people today, will do so to someone else tomorrow, and continue to field inquiries from interested parties through email. I really hope one of them turns out to be a keeper, and this is all settled before I leave. My tummy is unsettled over all this stress.
But while we're on the subject, allow me to take this opportunity to appreciate my landlord. He's offered to split the cost of a month's rent with me if I can't find a subletter for the entire summer. He's so nice.
PS I had my first ice cream cone of the summer at Lizzy's today. My classmate Frances asked me if I wanted to hang out this afternoon and I said sure. It's a lot of fun to be around classmates without schoolwork hanging over our heads.
PPS Sweet corn is on sale at Hannaford. I'm glad I haven't forgotten how to steam it in the microwave - Mummy Dearest and I did that while she was here :)
