At least, off from the internet, for the most part. I had today off of work (Happy Rosh Hashanah, as applicable) so I took Mom to a Senior Day Center to see what she thought. I'm playing a game of Puerto Rico right now. Myself (in the USA); a guy in Brazil; a guy in South Africa; and a guy/gal in Singapore. Could we possibly be any more farflung and/or diverse? I don't think so.

Except for a couple short errands with Mom and Roxie, both of whom needed out of the house, I'm staying put today. Too stiff from driving/sitting yesterday, plus I've had enough sun for the week. Just playing with the computer and watching movies (Inception is making more sense this time) and probably go to bed as soon as it's dark.

It was DC Horde meetup day in Alexandria, so I saddled up and drove to Virginia. Easier said than done. They're doing 1812 stuff in Baltimore, so had to go around the long way to avoid traffic/etc in the city. Get to DC and discover oopsie! I never checked on the Nats' schedule. They're home. Day game. Seriously, what is the attraction of a game that takes 12 hours to play? There were a couple games in progress when I arrived at Game Days at 10am...they were still playing the same damn games at 8pm with no sign of end. And there were dozens of games played that took 4 to 8 hours. Really, what is the attraction? I don't get it.

Just home from Game Days, which I left early because I went to the GCOM meeting that ran more than twice as long as they expected, plus I was in the world's most uncomfortable seat. Skipped the full convention this year. I was so busy in January and so tired, I wasn't sure I'd go at all. I settled for Sunday only, which turned out OK because most of the panels I was interested in were on Sunday.
