I have a horrible grass problem in my front garden. I'm not sure what kind of grass is exactly, other than extremely &$#&*$ invasive. I want to plant some White Dutch Clover. Some areas it will be just the clover & in other areas a mix of clover and Eco-Lawn.

I was wondering if I could seed now, should wait until the end of summer beginning of fall or just wait & do it in the spring.

I am in Zone 3 up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Hello, I'm in the Florida Panhandle (Zone 8b) and have a mix of mostly St. Augustine and Centipede grass. There's some weeds in there, too. Between the dogs and the weird winter, our back yard was pretty sad. In March, we raked all the old dead stuff up, broke up the top layer of soil, put down a ton of grass seed and fenced the dogs out while it grew. And grow it did-we had lovely, lush green grass ( Read more... )

I posted this awhile back about spreading compost on my lawn to improve the soil. That was like two weeks ago, and I've only made three trips to the compost heap so far. :/

Anyway, ( here's my progress in picture form. )

I recently discovered that my city has a compost heap that is freely available to anyone who wants it. Since it's free and there's a lot of it, I think it would be a great way to give the lawn in my backyard a boost ( Read more... )

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to grow a lawn from seed. Any experiences/tricks they might like to share with me to give mine the best chance of growing.
