Temperature dropped 25 degrees between when Curmudgeon got up at 7:30 (60 degrees) and 10:30 a.m. (45). It hovered in the low to mid-40s while the sun was up, then was to dip into the 30s this evening, then the low 20s overnight. That’s quite a drop. Brrrr ( Read more... )

The AC/heating guy came for annual heater maintenance. He also replaces the filters while he’s up in the attics where the units are. To get to the one in the top attic, you have to perch precariously on the rim of the trap door, something Curmudgeon and I prefer not to do, so the repairman just takes care of it while he’s up there. Today Curmudgeon put together the steam mop I bought him for his birthday. (He was okay with this as a gift, really. My cousin had been raving about hers for years, and C is the mopper of the family. No word from Curmudgeon’s brother in Sarasota about Hurricane Helene. It made landfall on the shore of Sarasota as a Category 3 storm. There was an issue with the water last night. When I poured myself a glass from the filtered refrigerator dispenser, it gurgled and suddenly spurted out cloudy yellowish water with things floating in it. Other sinks in the house also had pressure issues. Curmudgeon speculated that the house had been so hot that the sudden release of pressure ( Read more... )

Up at our usual Central Time Zone wake-up time. Showered and ate the last bagel and almost all the cream cheese.
