Weekend update

This weekend is looking to be one filled with lots of hard work as well as some serious fun. My usual Memorial Day weekend barbecue of less than ten people has turned into a 30+ people event. Wow! Which means lots of cleaning and shopping and prepping but I am so psyched.

Also, I received a priceless, intangible gift when I opened my e-mail this morning that simply fills me with joy and peace. Thank you so much, you know who you are. This is one of the reasons I rarely close doors completely with people. YAY!

Howard is off to his Rolling Thunder weekend, and will be returning late Sunday. For those of you who don't know, Rolling Thunder began as a political protest and now is the site of a huge motorcycle gathering that rides past the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC.

Crazy as it is, we may be getting another bird. Several months ago I took in 2 Congo Greys and a female Eclectus because their owners said their care was getting to be too much for them and they were entering retirement age and wanted to travel. Well, the male Eclectus that was the female's mate needs to be re-homed again, since he is too loud at the vet office where he is currently residing. All the people in and out all day is apparently too stressful for him. He had been re-homed before we had been asked to take the other 3 and I was sad all 4 birds wouldn't be together since they had been together for 12 years. Now it looks like we may have a reunion. 7 parrots. Oy.

It was a very stressful week at work filled with too much tension. I am very glad for this 3 day weekend.

Monday, May 31st is Daddy's birthday. He would have been 78 this year. How better to celebrate his life than to have a gathering of people having a good time? Miss you, Daddy.
