My oldest son, David, died this afternoon in Reading Hospital. He turned 64 in January, 2021, and has been in and out of the hospital (mostly in) since June of this year. COVID-19 changed the way my family celebrated Mother's Day...no picking me up and taking me home for a barbeque with the family...we never went to a restaurant on Mother's Day...they're overcrowded and both the food and the service aren't up to par...but it was still very satisfactory ( Read more... )

John and I went up to see David at Reading Rehab on Monday, November 18th. We got there too late to join him for lunch...we had picked up sandwiches en route through Reading...but still in time to go with him to physical therapy after our lunches. I heard from my daughter-in-law, Lauri, yesterday. David is now back in Reading Hospital, a sad way to get him out of Manor Care Rehab. I didn't like the place at all, wasn't impressed with care he was getting and, more importantly, Lauri didn't like it, either. I tried twice during the day yesterday to talk to my son, David, calling him on both his cell phone and the phone in his room in Manor Care Rehab. Then I called the nurse's station at Manor Care and was told that he seemed confused and was sleeping a lot.
