My coworker found this insect on his clipboard that had been outside. I find it fascinating, but I'm not sure what it is.

We're in Northwest Australia.

Any guesses? Maybe a weevil?

been lurkin for a while and love the entries you guys post.
i found a beautiful cocoon/chrysalis in my garage and with the rain & all, it's been a definite bright spot.
not to mention, it was gold! or at least shimmered like it, haha.

Unlike airplanes, leaving their landing gear down makes bees fly faster. When orchid bees extend their hind-legs they pitch forward to achieve maximal speed, and the legs produce lift forces to either side that help prevent the bee from rolling.
