i love gold!

been lurkin for a while and love the entries you guys post.
i found a beautiful cocoon/chrysalis in my garage and with the rain & all, it's been a definite bright spot.
not to mention, it was gold! or at least shimmered like it, haha.
if you look closely, you can see the reflection of my fingers & the camera
i took flash & nonflash photos to show its details & luster.
i've tried googling some information, but couldn't find what specific insect could make this, whether it be moth or butterfly.
i'm a total amateur but have a big interest in entomology because of the insect bio course i took a year ago.
any ideas/input would be appreciated. =)

UPDATE>>> So it's 5 days after this entry was made & the butterfly is out... but I wasn't able to be there for it's debut. =( Sucks!! The chrysalis is still hangin; pretty much see through, except for the markings.
