AntWeb + Google Earth = FUN!

Antweb.org has a program that works with "Google Earth" that is just terribly amusing.

First if you don't know what "Google Earth" then you need to check that out. It is a program that lets you get a satellite view of earth - even zooming into a level where, in the larger cities, you can see individual cars.

Antweb has made a program that works in concert with Google Earth so that you can see various species of ants and focus in on where they are found. When you open the program you see the landscape like usual with "pins" in places where you can learn more about a local ant species.

Once you click on a particular spot a window from antweb opens up so that read up on that particular species.

You can even use this to find out where a species is found but putting in its name - google earth will rotate around to the part of the world that ant is found in.
