So, class is going great.  I actually like it, which surprises me (not a big fan of handling a large amount of raw meat).  We studied veal today.  Learned how to make a cutlet, and managed not to cut myself!  Speaking of cutting ones' self, a guy in my class sliced his thumb so badly that he actually cut a tendon.  O_o  He has to drop the class for ( Read more... )

Well, I found out when I am officially moving to Hyde Park.  All my letters had stated that classes began on March 3, 2009, but I was a tad confused as to when orientation and moving in and all that was supposed to happen.  I gave the admissions office a call this morning, and moving in day is March 2, 2009.  Apparently orientation begins on March ( Read more... )

My loan for school was approved today!!!  So everything is definitely a go.  XD  As excited as I am about everything, it is more than a little daunting when I think about the amount of money I am going to have to borrow before this is all done.  But it will definitely be worth it. 

I have reserved my spot at the CIA for March 3rd!  I am so excited about it, but also weirdly apprehensive.  When I sent in the payment, my hands were shaking a bit, and my heart was racing.  This is a huge step for me, and I so badly want to learn to be a chef, but this is also going to lead to so many changes.  I still have a boat load of forms I ( Read more... )

So I finally checked out the accepted student packet the CIA sent me yesterday. Apparently I need to get several vaccinations (some mandatory and others optional) and there is a very extensive form my physician needs to fill out. I finally received my acceptance letter from the CIA!  It's huge.  I honestly don't remember any of my past acceptance letters containing quite this much information.  I swear, the packet is about an inch thick.  It came in the mail on Saturday (and I crashed yesterday at 4:30), and I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.  I can't wait to get ( Read more... )
