Our recent weather feels like an early fall. Wonderful. Though I'm sure it won't last and we'll be back to hot summer again. Jan and I hiked on the North Country Trail near Shippenville yesterday. A few pictures:

This morning I went on a hike at Two Mile with Rainy to a hill in the southeast corner where I haven't been for quite awhile. Made a loop from the top of the hill, down to the dam and then back up again. I knew I would be climbing some big hills and was interested to see afterwards that I climbed 341' in elevation. Candy and I had a lovely 6 mile hike. It wasn't supposed to be that long of a hike but on the way back I noticed an unmarked trail heading off into the woods. I get energized when I see a trail I haven't been on before. I'm very grateful that Candy is a willing hiker. I had x-rays taken of the knee after my doctor's appointment yesterday and got the report from the hospital this morning that they are unremarkable. So now I am looking up soft tissue injury while I wait to hear from the doctor. I am remembering back to last week before this got bad and I was doing a lot of stretching of that knee so I could squat ( Read more... )

Yesterday Candy and I hiked the Ho Ya Neh trail. I just liked it for its name! It was pretty steep going down to the Allegheny from the top of the plateau. More tiresome going down cause it hurt my knees than it was going back up, though we needed to stop frequently to rest on the way up. We descended 600 feet. ( Some pictures.... )

Good morning. Raining. The rain started yesterday. We have new weather now - colder. All the windows are shut and I was chilly in bed last night till Dave got there.
