Apparently, this is going to be a banner week for me...at least in terms of number of jobs for which I submit applications. I've already put in eight applications, and it's only Monday night. The house guests finally left today. As Sister had today off, but day care was open, we had intended to go to the morning water aerobics class at the gym. The house seemed so nice and peaceful and clean, though, that we were slackers and played video games instead. Things are still going along pretty much all the same here. Had a good trip home for Christmas. I still need to get a real job. My "temporary" job now sucks slightly less...or slightly more, I haven't yet decided. After avoiding it a couple of times, I finally ended up with the Lead Cashier position at the store. today, i went on an adventure all by myself. every year (or at least for the past couple of years) several yarn stores in the Puget Sound area organize a Local Yarn Shops Tour. the event runs for four days. all the participating stores give away a free pattern (and sometimes other gifts), offer a 10% discount on the yarn that's associated with ( Read more... )

i have succeeded at making a pair of socks! go me! they're not the best socks in the world. in fact, i really need to learn to do a better job of recording what i do when i'm not working off a pattern. there's a distinct possibility that the second sock was made on a different size of needles than the first sock. there's just a slight mismatch ( Read more... )
