Sundries

The barrage of job openings continued after my last post. The final count for the week was ten applications, several jobs saved for later applications, and two jobs that I applied for Saturday night that are officially considered part of this weeks effort (they got recorded as Sunday in the system because of the time zone difference, and I went with it). I also managed something that I consider quite outgoing and brave of me. I walked up to a complete stranger at the gym and asked her whether she worked in my field because she was wearing a University of Idaho, Department of Natural Resources shirt. Sadly, she's not in my field; her brother is. Still, I consider it a personal victory for merely asking. Go me!

In other news, Sister was in Japan all last week, so I had to get up early and shuttle Little Girl to day care and such. That will be my excuse for not writing for most of the week. Hehe. She got home yesterday with gifts and Japanese candy. Apparently, exotically flavored KitKats are all the rage over there. We haven't tried them yet, but the flavors sister brought home include green tea, cheesecake, and soy sauce.

I was "bad" and bought some yarn on Wednesday at knitting night. In my defense, it was cheap yarn that was further on sale. For less than twenty bucks, I'll get to try out this sweater pattern I'm adapting from baby to adult...and have a sweater. It was the second week I'd seen that yarn on sale and I resisted it once, but twice makes me think "fate". Okay, I just have no self control.

Anyway, I feel the need to go and knit or crochet. Workout Buddy and I are going to water aerobics tomorrow, which starts at 11 am on Mondays, so I get to sleep in a little. Thus, I get to stay up a little, too! That, and I just haven't played with yarn enough in the past week.

On a side note, I finally finished update my 2010 Book List. Sadly, I can't remember what books I re-read over the year, so that section is completely blank. Bleh.

yarn, jobs, reading, food, exercise, knitting, books, gym, crochet
