I was contemplating, as I often do, why certain channels exist. You get channels like G4 which runs Cops reruns at least 8 hours a day, then you have VH1 Classic, which I used to love, which now runs random movies most of the time. Why do these channels exist? Man, this show is a downer. First, you have a show about the Marvel universe, but you can't use any of the good characters. That's kind of a bummer by itself. My friend told me Adventure Time was getting a lot of love on reddit, so I checked it out. It's pretty good. It's how I imagine life would be if Cookie and I lived together. And that vampire chick is totally hot.

Woot. I am excited about this. With a good two years between seasons, new Venture Bros. is always exciting. I've been watching season 3-4 at a friend's house recently, since he hadn't seen them yet. Back in 1993, on Fox, there was a mid-season replacement show called Key West. I distinctly remember my brother and I watching it, though I don't remember many details. Like so may great shows on Fox, it was cancelled before it's time. Moreover, it's one of those shows that will likely never get a DVD release, due to it's semi-obscure nature. ( Read more... )

I have to say, I'm disappointed in the Black Dynamite tv series. It is disappointing after how awesome the movie was. Way too many repeats of the jokes from the movie and too much referential humor, much of it anachronistic. They are constantly doing 70's references, but then they keep dropping in modern quotes, and I don't think they're doing it ( Read more... )

Okay, I like Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and all, but they have some problems with overusing certain phrases. About five times every episode someone says a variant of "take down," as in "I'm going to take you down," "He needs to be taken down," and "You think you can take me down?" Way back in the day, when there were three networks and you had less than twenty channels with basic cable, there was USA Network. It still exists, technically, but it's just a generic look-alike channel with no identity. In the 80's, USA was spectacularly crappy, much like Fox. The last episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes had Ms. Marvel and Peter Henry Gyrich, making it topical with the issues of X-Men I'm currently going through.
