Trite dialogue
Okay, I like Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and all, but they have some problems with overusing certain phrases. About five times every episode someone says a variant of "take down," as in "I'm going to take you down," "He needs to be taken down," and "You think you can take me down?" It's starting to drive me up the wall. The show sometimes reminds me of the end of Justice League Unlimited when they fought Darksied and the dialogue suddenly became hackneyed. It's like the writers don't have confidence in their writing ability and just start barfing out the worst dialogue they remember hearing in other things. "Yeah, that sounded legit! We'll just do that and we'll sound legit!" I call it "fake SWAT dialogue," like they're trying to sound like a SWAT team, but it sounds totally fake.
