Black Dynamite (and Futurama!)

I have to say, I'm disappointed in the Black Dynamite tv series. It is disappointing after how awesome the movie was. Way too many repeats of the jokes from the movie and too much referential humor, much of it anachronistic. They are constantly doing 70's references, but then they keep dropping in modern quotes, and I don't think they're doing it ironically. The movie was funny because it was a send-up of blaxploitation movies. The tv series is mainly referential and racial humor. The animation is pretty bad too, which is unfortunate because the group that does it will be doing the next season of The Venture Bros. Ack! Disappointing!

On the other hand, though I have missed much of it, Futurama has been excellent this season. It is reminding me of why I love Futurama. Good stuff.

I propose a new genre of entertainment: Fansploitation. This proposed genre would include stuff like the Michael Bay Transformers and other such things that pander to nerdy fanboys, banking on nostalgia for their childhoods to make money. This could be quite a big genre, given how common this is these days...
